The Early Years and Childcare Team The Team works within the Community Learning Division of Southampton City Council's Education and Leisure Services Directorate. The team's main role is to plan and implement the Early Years Development & Childcare Plan for Southampton working with the Early Years Development & Childcare Partnership (EYDCP) and its Working Groups. The Team also plays a key role in developing key initiatives and services for families and children including the Sure Start Children's Centres, Neighbourhood Nurseries and Early Years Centres in the city. The team is managed by the Early Years Development & Childcare Manager and is structured in to five main areas. Each of these areas is managed by a Co-ordinator who has specific areas of responsibility plus is responsible for the co-ordination of one or more of the Partnership Working Groups.
