Activities for 0-5 year olds

There are numerous activities in Southampton for preschool aged children.  The good thing is that many of these activities are FREE.

The Libraries offer Storytimes and Rhymetimes, which are both free to attend and there's no need to book. They are aimed at children aged under 5 and are sometimes followed by a craft activity. Storytimes are a fun way of introducing your child to books in a relaxed environment.

Rhymetimes for babies and toddlers are music and rhyme sessions where everyone can participate.

Throughout the city there are Toy libraries where parents or carers can borrow high quality toys and play equipment free of charge for children up to ge 14.

Parent and toddler groups are also free, and can be a great way for you and your child to make new friends.

Other activities for children include things like gym tots where your child can develop their physical capabilities whist having fun with other children.  There are also many musical groups where children can experience a range of musical instruments and musical games.
