Training Bursary

Bursary Award funding for period April 2008 – March 2009

 

Southampton Early Years Development and Childcare Partnership will provide limited financial support for early years and childcare practitioners to undertake training and qualifications at level 2, level 3, level 4 and level 5 as detailed below.

 

All bursary awards are subject to funding being available and will be allocated on a first come - first served basis.

 

Level 2 courses

A maximum of £300 will be awarded for practitioners/volunteers undertaking level 2 courses such as Children’s Care Learning and Development (CCLD), Playwork and Certificate in Pre-school Practice (CPP)

 

GCSE English and Mathematics

 

A maximum of £150 will be awarded for each if required.


Level 3 courses


Playwork - 75% of the stated course fee up to a maximum of £600

Childminders/Early Years Foundation Stage practitioners - 75% of the stated course fee up to a maximum of £600 (sessional pre-schools/ maintained nurseries only if the course is needed to meet OfSTED requirements).

Level 4 courses

 

A maximum of £700 will be awarded for managers/lead practitioners undertaking level 4 studies.

 

Level 5 courses

 

EYFS - A maximum of £800 will be awarded for practitioners undertaking level 5 Foundation Degree if they are prepared to commit to achieving Early Years Professional status by 2015.

 

Playwork – A maximum of £800 will be awarded for practitioners undertaking level 5 Foundation Degree
