Southampton Star Awards

Southampton’s schools and colleges will be celebrating the outstanding achievements of their children, young people and staff at a ‘star-studded’ event this week.

On Thursday 15 July, the annual Southampton Star Awards are taking place to highlight the personal, academic and career accomplishments made by the people in education in the city. Each year every school and college is invited to nominate their stars to receive an award. This time Southampton City Council and some important sponsors will also be presenting special prizes for excellent work in special categories.

Among the winners are individuals who have overcome personal tragedy, inspired those around them or been an exceptional member of their school’s team.

The new awards being presented this year are:
* Outstanding contribution to being a eco/sustainable school - sponsored by Solarcentury
* Outstanding contribution to the community – sponsored by Carillion
* Outstanding contribution to being a healthy school – sponsored by 3663
* Outstanding contribution to transforming learning spaces – sponsored by Capita Symonds

Winners will receive their awards from the Right Worshipful Mayor of Southampton, Councillor Carol Cunio, and be entertained by some of the city’s talented young musicians and performers.
The winners will be published here following the ceremony.
